Modelling Child Poverty in Scotland

17 June 2025

WPI Economics were commissioned to carry out an analysis on possible future child poverty rates in Scotland. This includes the creation of a baseline projection of child poverty rates in Scotland under a ‘do nothing’ scenario, and also modelling the effect of a range of policies and ‘what-if’ scenarios on child poverty over the period to 2030.

This work was carried out to inform the Commission’s 2024-25 Child Poverty Scrutiny Report.
