The Poverty and Inequality Commission is committed to being open and transparent across all of our activities and will proactively share meeting minutes, research and other information on our website.
The Commission was established as a public body on 1 July 2019 and is now subject to requests made under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) and the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs).
The Commission has adopted the Scottish Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme. You can view the scheme here Model Publication Scheme. We have prepared a Guide to Information. The Guide to Information sets out how you can access the information that we publish. It tells you:
- what information is available
- any charges that may be applied for information
- how you can find the information easily
- contact details for enquiries and to get help with accessing the information
- how to request information we hold that has not been published
Wherever possible the information we publish is available on our website, but we offer alternative arrangements for people who do not want to, or cannot, access the information online. For example, we can usually arrange to send information to you in paper copy.
We will try to provide information free of charge wherever possible, but if we need to charge we will charge you no more than it actually costs us to provide the information (e.g. photocopying and postage costs). We will always tell you what the cost is before providing the information to you.
Where charges are applied, photocopied or printed information will be charged as a standard rate of 10p per A4 side of paper (black and white copy) and 30p per A4 side of paper (colour copy). We may recharge any postage costs at the rate we paid to send the information to you.
If you would like to request information from us under the Freedom of Information Act, or would like any help with how to make a request, then please email us at info@povertyinequality.scot, or write to us at:
